Brelsford - v - South Glamorgan Probation Department | 7 Jun 1993 | Cardiff High | Brelsford | DSE use: database management | Medial & Lateral Epicondylitis | Defendant |
In this case an information officer, with a Master's degree in Computer Sciences, alleged she had suffered bilateral Medial and Lateral Epicondylitis from using a computer with the thumbs and forefingers of both hands while seated at an unsuitable workstation. It is worthy of note in that it appears to be the first claim by a computer user to be heard in the High Court, yet it appears to have received no press coverage whatsoever. Pauline Brelsford's claim failed essentially because the medical expert witness called on her behalf, Dr Richard Pearson, did not convince the Judge that she had suffered the injuries alleged.
